ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Fundraising | Advocacy | Leadership
Over 20 years ago, the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library Foundation was formed from the bequests of Lora Hussey, Olive Hoffman, and Mr. and Mrs. James Mayfield.

Since 1999, the Foundation has quietly funded more than $1,000,000 in grants to the Library. The mission of the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library Foundation is to:

  • Assist donors to build an enduring source of charitable assets to benefit the Library

  • Provide responsible stewardship of the gifts donated

  • Promote leadership in addressing Library matters

  • Award grants which nurture the Library

As our community grows and the needs of our stakeholders become more diverse, the quiet professionals on the Foundation Board saw the need to become more vocal advocates. The Foundation is strategically taking a more visible profile, seeking philanthropists who love the Library, and providing them with a system for giving back to our Library.

The HMMPL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Federal tax ID #35-2089927.
